Palmetto Counseling recognizes the needs of clients who may be uninsured, have high deductibles, or do not have mental health, family or marriage counseling benefits as part of their insurance plan. For self-pay clients without insurance, Palmetto Counseling is pleased to offer discounted rates for pre-paid packages for Individual, Family, & Marriage / Couples Counseling office visits.
Please Note: To be eligible for discounted rate, pre-payment is required and client understands and agrees that insurance claim will not be filed. As such, Palmetto Counseling will only provide a receipt for proof-of-purchase of pre-paid counseling package and will be unable to provide clinical receipt, diagnosis information, CPT procedure codes, or any other clinical information for client to file claim with their insurance.
Insurance
Before Scheduling an Appointment at Palmetto Counseling: verify with your insurance company that our practice is considered "In-Network" with your insurance plan. If your plan requires a referral prior to seeing a specialist, please contact your primary care physician so that you have the referral in hand at the time of your appointment. If your insurance should happen to change, we require that you notify our office 24 hours prior to your appointment time.
Initial Appointment: Please arrive early for your first appointment so that all paperwork may be completed before seeing the clinician. Please bring current insurance card(s), valid picture identification / drivers license, and co-pays with you and let us know if any of your contact information has changed [e.g., phone number, current address, emergency contact , etc].
Payment of co-pays, deductibles, or any non-covered services will be required at the time of service. For your convenience, we accept CASH, CHECKS, MASTERCARD, VISA, DISCOVER, AMERICAN EXPRESS, AND DEBIT.
Missed Appointment / Late Cancellation Policy: Due to a significant increase in the volume of "No-Show" appointments and rising trend of non-payments of outstanding accounts seen in other practice settings [which contribute to escalating operating costs], it is our policy that new clients complete the Credit Card Authorization Form attached to our Financial Policy, which permits Palmetto Counseling to bill your credit card for a missed appointment fee if you fail to provide us the required 24 hour advance notice in the event you miss or change your appointment at the last minute. This fee is non-refundable and is not covered by your insurance or EAP.
Out-Of-Network Insurance Plans: If you have insurance that our practice does not accept or is considered out-of-network, we will provide you a receipt for clinical services rendered that you submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. We have several applications pending with other Managed Care and EAP providers. Please check back regularly if you do not see yours listed below.
