Rich Schlauch, MSW, LISW-CP, LCSW

Rich is the Director of Palmetto Counseling & Consulting Services, LLC. He is licensed in both North and South Carolina as a clinical social worker and has been engaged in clinical practice with children, adults and families in residential and outpatient treatment settings since 1997.

He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from  Winthrop University and received his Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Rich later consulted with the University of South Carolina's College of Social Work, in which he co-authored a decision case study on death and dying that was published by Columbia University Press in 2008. As an advocate for mental health awareness, he has served on local and state committees to address issues such as child abuse prevention, client rights, and social policy. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and previously served as Vice President for the South Carolina Chapter NASW Board of Directors. 

As an eclectic practitioner, Rich draws upon several theoretical models which include the integration of cognitive behavioral therapy and other psycho-therapeutic approaches to work with diverse populations such as persons with severe and chronic mental health problems to individuals who require brief,solution-based therapy or life coaching skills.

Among his areas of expertise, he specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, anger, ADHD, relationship problems, marriage counseling, and grief and loss. Rich’s understanding, non-judgmental and supportive approach allows his clients to develop needed skills and gain valuable insight so they can move forward with their lives.
